We want to work with members of the community to help you bring your design ideas to life. When we work with you on your ideas we help you to navigate and understand the vast array of options available to you and release your creative 'Maker' self.

Services:
We offer a Pro Bono basis project service, as well as paid projects.
Pro Bono projects are done for free or simply for the cost of materials.
On Pro Bono projects all Designer and Engineer time is voluntary.
We reserve the right to accept or decline any jobs at our discretion.

Our previous projects, you can print yourself for free
Some of our project design are available for free to download from model sharing services. If you have your own 3D Printer or would prefer to use a different print service, you can download the files for free.
We only ask if you use our free designs that you share your story with us, either hear or on the download site. Your story about what you printed and what you used it for might help someone else.

Our Previous Projects for Purchase
Don't want the trouble of printing yourself, we can print it for you.
All our projects are printed or made on demand. This means that you can request modifications in the design as well as your choice of material and colour.
Cant find what your after, email us and we can discuss customising an existing design to suit your exact specifications or create a new design for you from scratch.

About Us
3DOM Engineering (3D Design, Optimise, Make) is a small group of volunteer engineers with a wide variety of experience and interests. Our goal is to provide volunteer assistance, guidance and engineering services to the community for the benefit of the community and the world.

3DOM Engineering was created to be able to offer a service to people, charities and not for profit organisations that would other wise not be able to maximise their impact and achieve the greatest value through their own designs and concept projects.
​
We will help you visualise and optimise your concepts or designs from scratch, sketch or any method that helps you express your thoughts and to suit your particular requirement.
We can also help with advice on how to make your designs in the most effective way for you. In some cases we can make for you or help you to source a fabricator, printer or 'maker'.
We have access to 3D printers FFF printers for prototyping and a machine shop for fabrication if required.
We can also help you to outsource prototyping and manufacturing services to other industry teams.

Why do we do this?
We are always looking for ways to improve the world and help our community. It is in the nature of an Engineer to solve problems.

3DOM allows our team to be more creative and extend personal experiences outside our normal industry confines. This helps us with a wider variety of experience and knowledge.

What does this cost?
Most design projects are free.
All designer time is voluntary so there is no charge for our time.
In most cases we will ask that you pay for materials if we are making your project for you.

Looking for a "thingy" to do a specific task, can't find it anywhere?
Do you have a design in mind but want to make it better? or perhaps just update it?

We can help you to re-imagine an existing concept or design to maximise its potential, make it better, cheaper, easier or stronger.

Most designs don't start from scratch. Engineers are great at redesigning items for a different purpose.
Make
We can work with you to help you understand the ways to fabricate your design and adjust it to suit the fabrication requirements.
We have personal access to a wide variety of fabrication and prototyping resources. To make prototypes and finished products if required.
